SIMPLE PROJECTS FOR CRAFTS/READING - GUARANTEED!
Linda M. Penn
HERE ARE MY FAVORITE GO TO SIMPLE CRAFT/READING PROJECTS – GUARANTEED!
YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE STRESSED!!!!!!! AND NO MESSY CLEAN UP!!!!!!!
Bendaroos – Little short bendable stick-like things (sorta like pipe cleaners, only no sharp points). I searched Amazon website. There is a package of 500 for $18.95. Trust me – every penny is worth it. Just be sure to unwrap BEFORE you get your child all excited about them. The wrapping was hard and took time for me to open – of course, you may be a faster opener than me!
If you have just read a book about kites, the child can bend these things and make all kinds of kites, if you just read a book about dinosaurs, the child can bend these things and make all kinds of dinosaurs – you get the idea!
Stickers, crayons and construction paper – Have a supply of all kinds of stickers.
If you have just read a book about trucks, the child can draw a truck and put an animal sticker in the truck. If you have just read a book about a princess, your child can draw a picture of a princess going to a ball and put some flower stickers in the ballroom – you get the idea!
Picture dictionary and alphabet stickers - great IF your child knows how to spell his or her name. A picture dictionary book is great alongside the alphabet stickers because your child can look at a picture and then know how to spell the word WITHOUT bugging you!!!!!!!
If you have just read a book about going to a zoo, the child can look up pictures of zoo animals and spell them with alphabet stickers plus use some animal stickers. If you have just read a book about a farm, the child can look up pictures about a farm and spell them with alphabet stickers plus use some farm-related stickers.
Okay, hope this helps you! I used the word “guaranteed” in the title of this Blog. Not sure what I could give you if these ideas don’t work for you – maybe a “sorry?” Anyway, don’t give up, be positive, and HAVE FUN!
NEXT MONTH – Come back the first week in June – “IT’S SUMMER – FINALLY!”
